ADULT: Wingspan up to 12mm. The forewings of this tiny species are ochreous to whitish and bear two to three dark fuscous spots near the base. The head is whitish and the hindwings grey. BEHAVIOUR: The larvae mine the stems of Reed Canary-Grass and Common Reed and sometimes other grasses. HABITAT: Damp habitats such as river and canal banks and marshes. FLIGHT PERIOD: May to August. STATUS: Common throughout. |
